There is a ghost story associated with Fort Warren. The Lady in Black is the ghost of a Southern woman who stole into the Fort during the Civil War to rescue her husband of a few days. They were captured and her pistol exploded when she tried to shoot the commanding officer. The explosion killed her husband and left her desolate. She was hanged soon after and has been seen in the Fort numerous times since.

This is not the ghost of the Lady in Black. This is a visitor walking in one of the canon placements. Apparently this place left many men deaf and choking on cordite fumes.
